Exploring the city

I live in DURBAN. A beautiful city located on the coast of Kwa-Zulu Natal. But the Durban CBD is not a place that anyone could visit, unless they have a good knowledge on how the area operates. What do I mean? There are a lot of bag snatching and robberies which happen on a daily. That means you have to be careful of your surroundings.

My campus is situated in the CBD so I have no option but to go there, everyday. In the past I have been very close to being robbed but I managed to get away. 

I believe that robbers use fear as a tool to get what they want. If you put up a fight or react they will go away. But this is just from my perspective. Also from my experience, putting on an angry face😠, which will scare them away and also show you that they must not mess with you.

But I have been going there for a while so I have become familiar with the streets and the surroundings.

New year, new me???

Hi, fellow Earthlings! 😄 Just popping in to wish all my wonderful blog followers a happy and blessed New Year 2025! 💫 The beginning of this year was both sad and transformational for me, as I experienced a relapse in my depression and was hospitalized. While it was a tough moment, my hospital stay turned out to be a deeply healing experience. I met new friends and had valuable time to reflect on the past, allowing me to make more mindful decisions for the future. Most importantly, I began learning how to stay grounded in the present moment and slowly started letting go of worry. The hospital offered amazing therapy and craft sessions, which I actively participated in — a big shift for me, since I had never attended these sessions during previous stays. One of my favorite activities was the bracelet-making session, where I felt both calm and creatively engaged. Another memorable session involved making acrylic keyrings.
